AURORA, Colo. — Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center unveiled Mountain View Pavilion, a new premier event space in September 2024, part of the current multi-year investment plan spearheaded by ownership group Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RHP).
The new event pavilion, named for its scenic views of the picturesque Rocky Mountains, covers 12,118 square feet of indoor event and pre-function space, more than 14,000 square feet of outdoor terraces and patios, as well as 15,000 square feet of turfed lawn areas. The interior space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, banquet space, a skylight, a refined indoor fireplace, and west-facing mountain vistas.
The new venue is expected to significantly elevate Gaylord Rockies Resort's capacity to host high-profile events and weddings. Since opening in 2018, the resort—recognized as Colorado's largest combined resort and convention center—has hosted meetings ranging from five to 10,000 attendees. Offering a unique departure from the typical ballroom and exhibit hall spaces, Mountain View Pavilion is expected to boost group travel to the Denver and Aurora markets. With its prime location, minutes from Denver International Airport, the Pavilion offers unparalleled convenience for both national and international guests.
Complementing the venue's striking design, Gaylord Rockies' renowned expertise in event planning, production, and management—paired with its award-winning culinary team—provides personalized service for every event, from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations.
"Mountain View Pavilion is more than just a space; it's a testament to our commitment to offering distinct and versatile event experiences," said Michael Kofsky, Director of Sales & Marketing at Gaylord Rockies Resort. "With research indicating that unique venues can increase attendance by up to 30%, the Pavilion positions us at the forefront of market trends and client expectations."
The Pavilion's opening follows recent upgrades, including the launch of Embers Lodge Bar, The Fortunate Prospector, and a redesigned Grand Lodge in April 2024. Upcoming enhancements include re-concepting the resort's current restaurants, Monte Jade and Vista Montagne, into Garden + Grain and Copper Table. A redesigned Old Hickory Steakhouse is also slated to debut this fall. This investment in Gaylord Rockies is part of a long-term growth plan within the Gaylord Hotels brand, with ongoing enhancements in food and beverage, recreation, meeting space and guest rooms in all five properties.
"The improvements we have made at Gaylord Rockies are a terrific example of the customer-centric investment approach we take across our portfolio," said Mark Fioravanti, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ryman Hospitality Properties. "These enhancements add to the appeal of our unique all-under-one-roof model and create additional value for groups and leisure guests."
