GRAPEVINE, Texas (March 13, 2024) - As the moon casts its shadow upon the earth, Gaylord Texan Resort invites guests to witness the awe-inspiring phenomenon of a total solar eclipse with a viewing party on April 8th. This extraordinary event will take place at Glass Cactus, promising an unforgettable experience blending science, entertainment, and natural wonder.
SOLAR ECLIPSE VIEWING PARTY:
The main event unfolds on April 8th from 11:00am - 3:00pm at the resort's Glass Cactus events venue where guests will have the opportunity to observe the solar eclipse in all its splendor. All ages are welcome, and safety glasses will be provided for all guests to have a clear view.
Alongside the eclipse viewing, a variety of activities and entertainment will be provided including:
Festival-Themed Activities: Located in the Glass Cactus parking lot, guests can enjoy fun festival activities including face painting and balloon art, strolling entertainment and DJ entertainment.
Food and Beverage Offerings: Delicious food offerings will be provided by the Gaylord Texan Culinary team along with refreshments from Kona Ice and Travelin' Toms Coffee.
Live Entertainment: Journey tribute band Wheel in the Sky will take the stage indoors providing premium entertainment and favorite classic hits.
General Admission for the event will be complimentary for those with a room package, $20 for resort guests and $25 for the public. Tickets include access to the outdoor and indoor entertainment and activities and are standing room only.
VIP Lakeside Admission will be $125 a seat. In addition to General Admission access, this includes lower level lakeview seating, a $25 food credit, and two vouchers for an upcoming concert ($50 value).

It's Showtime! Escape Room: It's almost showtime, and the star has misplaced the most important piece of her costume: her beloved crown. As the trusted stagehand in this escape room, it is up to you to find it. The clock is ticking, and the show must go on!
The Heist Escape Room: Master thief Thurston Powell III has stolen King Arthur's Chalice, a prized item from the International Museum of World History's collection. In this escape room, your mission is to infiltrate his lair and locate his hidden collection and the stolen chalice. You'll need to recover the item and take it to the museum before he returns from his latest heist.
Stilt Performers: Snap a photo with larger-than-life characters in the resort's atrium.
DJ Dance Party: The atrium will transform into an electrifying dance floor for kids as a DJ spin tunes to set the mood for the eclipse eve from 7pm - 9pm.
