AURORA, Colo. — The sixth annual spring celebration at Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center officially kicked off March 6 highlighted by the seasonal opening of the resort's 720-foot lazy river. This year, the resort unveils an exciting array of new spring activities, packages, and an exclusive Local Resident Card, all designed to complement Gaylord Rockies' refreshed look, following the completion of its latest enhancements and expansion project in November 2024.
Arapahoe Springs Water Park, the resort's year-round oasis featuring heated indoor and outdoor pools, three exhilarating waterslides, and a host of family-friendly amenities, announced the seasonal opening of its 720-foot lazy river. This signature attraction is designed to offer guests a tranquil yet exciting experience, complete with a scenic rocky grotto, single and double tubes, water jets, and playful bubblers. Guests can also unwind in private poolside cabanas or enjoy refreshing dining options at Arapahoe Springs Bar + Grill.
Before reopening for spring, the lazy river undergoes a thorough de-winterization process, including cover removal, plaster cleaning, minor tile maintenance, and system reactivation. Water quality is tested, and features like jets and bubblers are recalibrated to ensure a seamless guest experience.
For the first time, Gaylord Rockies Resort is rolling out its exclusive Local Resident Card this spring, offering Colorado locals exciting perks such as discounts at resort bars, restaurants, and Relâche Spa, along with complimentary self-parking. To enroll, guests can simply visit the host stand at any resort dining outlet or Relâche Spa and present a valid Colorado ID.
Additionally, Colorado residents can elevate their stay with the Make Vacation Together Extraordinary Package, which includes a $50 nightly resort credit, overnight self-parking for one vehicle, and two daily s'mores kits. Overnight guests also enjoy unlimited access to Arapahoe Springs Water Park.
The resort's spring activities are complemented by its recent enhancements, completed in November 2024. The transformation, which began in June 2023, introduced several key additions, including Embers Lodge Bar, the resort's English pub, The Fortunate Prospector, and the premier event venue Mountain View Pavilion, which opened mid-2024. The enhancements culminated with the debut of Copper Table, offering a modern take on classic Western dishes, Garden + Grain, a seasonal kitchen showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the reimagined Old Hickory Steakhouse Bar.
In addition to the lazy river reopening, Gaylord Rockies Resort invites guests to experience a lineup of spring activities and entertainment:
