
Kemp Gallineau serves as senior vice president and general manager of Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida. In this position, Gallineau oversees all facets of the resort and convention center operations.
Gallineau joined Gaylord Entertainment February of 2001, as hotel manager of the company’s $450 million Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center. From the planning and development stages of their 1,400 guest rooms and 400,000 square feet of pre-function, meeting, convention and exhibition space (the largest in Florida) to the breaking of an industry record one million room nights sold before opening, the team was on a fast track. The Gaylord Palms 2002 opening was touted as the “Best Opening in North America” and they continued to garner numerous awards while achieving Four-Diamond status. Gaylord Palms has been the leading Resort and was voted Best Resort in the Florida market for 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006.
In 2004, Gallineau moved to Nashville, Tennessee and as VP and assistant general manager of Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, contributed to the leadership team of the largest combined hotel and convention center facility under one roof. This Gaylord Entertainment flagship property is comprised of 2,881 guest rooms and 600,000 square feet of meeting, convention and exhibit space. While responsible for the operational aspects of this property, Kemp also had oversight responsibility for the Radisson at Opryland, the General Jackson Showboat, Gaylord Springs Golf Links, Wildhorse Saloon and the Transportation Division.
Prior to joining Gaylord Entertainment, Gallineau served as director of the rooms division for the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort where in the year 2000, they experienced their highest guest satisfaction rating along with their most profitable year. Previously he was director of process improvement with Westin Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. During his tenure there he moved throughout the departments developing service goals, organizational structures, and profitability strategies. For seven years, he held many positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, including rooms division manager, chief engineer, director of housekeeping services, director of guest services and telecommunications manager.
Gallineau has received awards for his significant contributions to the hotel and resort industry, including the Westin Innisbrook Leadership Award in 1999, the Walt Disney World Dolphin Leadership Award in 1996, and the ITT North American President’s Award in 1997. While he was employed at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, the resort was named Hotel of the Year in 1993 and 1997 and received the Governor’s Sterling Award (Rapid Response Team) in 1998.
Before joining the Hospitality Industry, he spent nine years with AT&T as regional sales manager and operations manager.
Gallineau currently serves on the board of Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association and Kissimmee/Osceola Chamber of Commerce.
