David C. Kloeppel, President and Chief Operating Officer

David Kloeppel is President and Chief Operating Officer for Gaylord Entertainment, a diversified hospitality and entertainment company whose holdings include the Gaylord Hotels and the Grand Ole Opry.

Kloeppel joined Gaylord Entertainment in September 2001 from Deutsche Bank in New York City, where he was a Vice President. Kloeppel was responsible for the U.S. mergers and acquisitions execution business in leisure, lodging and real estate sectors. While at Deutsche Bank, Kloeppel executed more than $21 billion in transactions for the mergers and acquisitions team for clients such as Promus Hotel Corporation and FelCor Lodging Trust Inc.

From 1991 to 1995, Kloeppel was a Retirement Plan Service Team Manager for Bankers Trust Company in Nashville, Tenn. Managing a team that administered more than $600 million in defined contribution assets, Kloeppel’s responsibilities included proof and control of plan record keeping and cash management for participant loans, withdrawals and deposits.

Kloeppel graduated with highest honors from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University with a Master of Business Administration in May 1996. He was selected Most Outstanding Finance Student of the Class of 1996 and was a Financial Executives Institute Southeast Region Finance Scholar. Kloeppel graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in May 1991, where he majored in economics and minored in computer science and art history.
