“Mister Q” is a household name around the Texan. This man is indeed a legend of gargantuan Gaylord proportions. Mister Q, rarely seen without his camera, earns his living as a full-time trolley driver, but makes his life as the unofficial Texan historian and volunteer archivist.

Mister Q’s love for the trolley stems from his days in Chicago. He spent countless hours both riding trolleys and admiring them from afar. To Mister Q there’s just something magical about a trolley. Mister Q has made his trolley more than just a means for transportation. He has turned the Texan trolley into a chance for social interaction, a chance for connections and a chance to provide fun and flawless service to each of his passengers.
Through the years Mister Q has taken over 4,000 pictures of the property, STARS and guests and has documented every event, opening and celebration along the way. He shares his “moments” with his guests through a single snap shot and sends them away with a memory as his unique gift to them. His job description states “The Trolley Driver is responsible for the safe and timely conveyance of passengers from Point A to Point B while operating a vehicle”. But Mister Q does much more than that. He pours his heart and soul into his trolley and into the Texan everyday. It is his mission to bring a smile to the faces of all who step aboard making their stay… well, magical.

Rigoberto Lemus embodies the very definition of the word… VISION. He uses his passion, ingenuity and dedication to turn possibilities into realities. Rigoberto approaches work and leads his team with outstanding leadership ability and always has a big smile on his face …and a plan!

Last year in the middle of February the entire city shut down. Snowed in with blackout conditions from a winter storm travel plans, conventions and life in the area stood still. But Rigoberto Lemus had a plan. Knowing that regular food deliveries would be stopped for several days, Rigoberto worked closely with regional food vendors in the 48 hours prior to the storm’s arrival to obtain as much food as possible. This amazing executive chef remained onsite through the storm and its afternoon to make sure his team operated flawlessly and that guests were taken care of.
Another plan from Chef Lemus created the opportunity for Gaylord National to assist one of the best charitable organizations in the D.C metro area – the D.C. Central Kitchen. Gaylord National now donates approximately 3,000 pounds of un-used high-quality food every week… that’s 156,0000 pounds of year per year! The food is distributed among 60 different organizations including area shelters, senior centers, after-school programs and other non-profits.
