This summer, Gaylord Texan Resort invites visitors to experience an unforgettable summer vacation minus the travel expenses at the grandest resort destination in the Lone Star State. In addition to the property's impressive amenities, its eighth-annual SummerFest event, running now through September 5th, 2011, will feature a variety of festive events and entertainment for adults and families to enjoy!
This summer's resort guests will be the first to experience Gaylord Texan's brand new 10-acre outdoor pool and lazy river complex, Paradise Springs. The new pool features a 600-foot long lazy river with entertaining water features; a 6,000-sq-ft family lagoon with a 27-foot tall winding waterslide, a 25-ft-long zip-line, two horseshoe-shaped hot pools, and water basketball; and a dedicated toddler pool. Seating for 1,200 includes chaise loungers, beach chairs, and family-style rounds. For those who want the V.I.P. treatment, Paradise Springs offers a selection of private cabanas for rent daily, some of which include flat-screen televisions, refrigerators, fire pits, and private servers. In addition to the water activities, Paradise Springs also features an outdoor Game Pavilion with shuffleboard., bocce ball, croquet, tossers, and a large campfire pit. For SummerFest 2011 at Paradise Springs, Gaylord Texan is hosting "Poola-Palooza!" including pool parties with DJs, poolside movie nights, hair braiding, fireside ghost stories, and temporary tattoos.
Within Gaylord Texan’s four-and-a-half acres of lush indoor gardens kept at a comfortable 72 degrees all summer long, guests of Gaylord Texan will discover strolling entertainment the popular Golden Cowboy living statue, balloon artist, magician, and live musicians. Culinary events will include Junior Chef Camps, a “Taste of the Texan” Restaurant Dine-Around, “Texan on the Rocks” Rock N’ Roll & Cocktails Experience, “Triple-licious” Dessert Tastings, Wine & Cheese Pairings, “Kids Eat FREE” Thursday Nights, “Beer & Bites Flights” in Texan Station, and Family Fiesta Fridays with food, drinks, and entertainment in Riverwalk Atrium. Outdoors this summer, the resort will host spectacular Friday Night Fireworks, as well as the local favorite “Grillin’ & Chillin’ Lakeside Sunday Brunch at Glass Cactus. Additionally, resort visitors can play water sports on the lake or 18-hole championship golf at nearby Cowboys Golf Club.
During SummerFest 2011, resort visitors will also enjoy dining at four award-wining casual and fine dining restaurants including Old Hickory Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Zeppole Coastal Italian, Riverwalk Cantina Tex-Mex, and Texan Station Sports Bar & Grill. The resort's 25,000-square-foot European inspired Relâche Spa will offer summer spa specials including sun-kissed facials and "Touch of Summer" massages. Eight unique retail shops provide a variety of shopping opportunities for women, men, and children. Glass Cactus nightclub, located on the shores of Lake Grapevine, provides a great escape with live stage music, dancing, cocktails, and outdoor decks.
