Mike Wainwright Joins Gaylord Texan as Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Grapevine, Texas—( May 11, 2009 ) Gaylord Texan Hotel & Convention Center is pleased to announce that Mike Wainwright has joined its world-class hotel team as vice president of sales and marketing. In his role, Wainwright will be responsible for developing and implementing the sales, marketing and public relations strategy for the spectacular 1,511-room property and its adjoining 400,000-square-foot convention center.

Wainwright brings more than twenty years of sales and marketing experience and expertise in the hospitality industry to his new position at Gaylord Texan. In his previous role with Gaylord Hotels as vice president of sales and marketing at Gaylord Palms Hotel & Convention Center—Gaylord Texan's sister property in Kissimmee, Florida—Wainwright had a tremendous impact on the property's success and brand development by displaying an unwavering commitment to excellence. His impressive career also included sixteen years in sales and marketing with Marriott International. In addition to his considerable industry experience, Wainwright also holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
