Tim Ward has served as the Director of Engineering since August, 2008 leading the team responsible for the care and maintenance of the 1,511 room resort and 400,000 sq foot convention center. Tim began his career at the Texan as a Lead Tech in Engineering in February, 2004 and was promoted to Chief Engineer in November, 2004. Having successfully led the mechanical engineering team, Tim assumed the responsibility of leading the electrical team when he was again promoted to Chief Engineer, Mechanical & Electrical in October, 2007. During his tenure, Gaylord Texan has begun the process for LEED-EB Silver certification introducing a resort-wide recycling program as well as other environmentally-friendly practices.

Prior to joining Gaylord Texan, Tim served as Building Operations Manager of Trammell Crow's EDS/Trinity Complex. Tim also spent seven years with TDIndustries in various leadership roles including Chief Engineer at two different properties.
