The Grinch Is Coming!

ICE! featuring How The Grinch Stole Christmas! at Gaylord Texan will be open daily from Thursday, November 12 through Sunday, January 3, including holidays.

The thrilling, chilling, one-of-a-kind holiday attraction ICE! returns to Gaylord Texan Resort for the 2009 Christmas season... and this time, we're bringing one of the country's most-loved children's tales — the Dr. Seuss classic, How The Grinch Stole Christmas!

This icy attraction is part of Gaylord Texan's annual Lone Star Christmas celebration, which includes a wide variety of holiday events and activities. This year, ICE! tells the story of The Grinch by recreating cherished scenes from the book in intricately carved, larger-than-life, interactive ice sculptures set in a walk-through world of ice. Some of the sculptures weigh in at more than two tons each.

• ICE! will be created by dozens of artisans who migrate to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area each year from Harbin, China to craft this elaborate attraction out of nearly 2 million pounds of ice. It takes them nearly an entire month of 12-hour shifts to transform the refrigerated tent where the exhibit is held into a remarkable icy wonderland. Learn more about how ICE! is made...
