Frequently Asked Questions

Weddings at Gaylord Opryland Resort (Nashville, Tennessee)

How do I come and look at the wedding venues?
Please make an appointment with a wedding sales manager by calling (615) 458-5363.

How many people can your venue handle for a wedding ceremony or reception?
We have hosted ceremonies and receptions for two people all the way up to several thousand.

What are the times for weddings?
An afternoon wedding reception must end by 4:00 p.m., and an evening wedding reception cannot begin before 6:00 p.m. Ceremony times can be adjusted to fit around the reception times. The latest an event may last is until 12:00 a.m.

How far in advance can I book?
As a rule of thumb, you may book about 12 months prior to the date of the wedding in the resort and roughly 18 months prior to the date of the wedding at Gaylord Springs Golf Links, General Jackson Showboat or Music City Queen.

Can I have just my ceremony here?
During busier wedding months, we may require that you hold your reception with us. However, there may be some dates and times your wedding sales manager can help you with a ceremony only.

We want to host everything in one location. Can you handle a bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch?
Yes, we have many options for venues for each of these events. With all the different events for your wedding weekend, we can give your guests a different experience at each one or tie all of them together with a common theme. We have special menus created for such events, or we can help you customize a menu that fits your personal tastes.

When do we decide on all the details for our wedding?
Your Wedding Sales Manager will arrange the details with you 2 to 3 months prior to your event.

Do you have onsite wedding planners and coordinators? Can I bring in my own?
Upon signing a contract with us, you will be assigned a wedding coordinator who will have a preliminary and wrap-up consultation with you; develop vendor and bridal party timelines; assist with a rehearsal run-through and handle the on-site coordination of your wedding and/or reception (at Gaylord Opryland or our attractions). Of course, you may work with an outside coordinator if you have already hired one.

I am out of state and worried about planning long distance. Are you able to help me?
Absolutely. Our wedding sales managers will work with you closely through email, phone and mail to make sure all the details are covered.

What vendors are included?
Wedding packages include your wedding director. However, you are responsible for booking your officiant, florist/decorator, photographer, videographer and music for both the ceremony and reception. Your wedding director can provide a list of recommended vendors, or you are welcome to bring in your own vendors. For added convenience, you may choose to hire Gaylord Opryland’s award-winning florists to handle your floral needs.

Are there any photography restrictions?
We reserve the privilege of scheduling photography sessions for wedding portraits for brides hosting their wedding at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Attractions.

How do we reserve the space?
Space cannot be guaranteed without a signed contract and deposit, and all space in the resort must be approved through your wedding sales manager to ensure there is no double-booking. Specific space is not guaranteed, though we do guarantee you will have ample space for your requirements.

How is parking handled?
Self parking is included in the reception packages for the day of the reception. Valet parking is $26.00 per car (prices are subject to change).

Is a rehearsal for the ceremony included?
The wedding director allots a one-hour rehearsal time for weddings with 50 guests or more. The rehearsal is generally held the day before the ceremony.

Where does the wedding party get dressed?
Most wedding parties prefer to book hotel rooms the night before the wedding and get ready in the comfort of their rooms.

Can I taste the food before I decide on a menu?
A menu tasting for up to four people is available for couples planning a banquet reception for 100 or more guests at Gaylord Opryland Resort and our attractions.

Can we bring in our own caterer?
Due to liability policies, Gaylord Opryland Resort must provide all food and beverage, including the wedding cake. Whether you desire an intimate or elaborate reception, menus can be specifically tailored to your wishes.

What about bar packages?
A package bar is included in each wedding menu. However, this can be customized if you do not want to offer alcohol or prefer to add signature drinks or upgrade to premium alcohol.

How much does it cost to have a wedding with Gaylord Opryland?
Each wedding is different, and exact pricing is determined by date, location and time of day. All ceremony locations have a rental fee. Reception rental fees will be waived if the ceremony is hosted at Gaylord Opryland Resort or our attractions. A minimum food and beverage expenditure is required for each wedding reception.

Are certain days or times discounted?
Afternoon packages are less expensive than evenings. You can save on ceremony rentals and receive 10% off the food portion of your wedding reception package if you choose a day other than Saturday for your reception (excluding holidays).

Is there special pricing for children?
Reduced pricing is available for wedding guests under age 12.

What is the deposit and payment schedule?
A signed contract and a 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. Half (50%) of the estimated bill is due three (3) months prior to the event, and a full estimated payment of the event is due ten (10) days prior to your wedding.

What forms of payments are acceptable?
Credit cards, checks or cash are accepted. (A personal check cannot be accepted for the final payment.) A credit card authorization form must be completed prior to the event for any additional charges.

What happens if we have to cancel?
In the unlikely circumstance that the event is cancelled, cancellation fees will be based on how close to the event date it is cancelled.

Are overnight accommodations available for my guests?
