Gaylord Opryland Scoop

Nashville, Tenn.—( September 27, 2007 ) Rising African-American National Celebrity Chef Takes the Stage at Gaylord Opryland Resort.

Oprah calls Chef Delilah's macaroni and cheese the best in the nation. That's just one dish that's helped earn the Philadelphia chef the new title as the reigning queen of soul food. Delilah Winder gave up a career as a business analyst and started a one-woman food stand in Philadelphia's historic Reading Terminal Market. Today she has six Delilah's Southern Cuisine stands and the highly acclaimed Bluezette, a Latin, Caribbean and soul food restaurant in Philadelphia's fashionable Old City district. Her food resume grew in the fall of 2006, with the publication of her favorite southern recipes in Delilah's Everyday Soul: Southern Cooking With Style and celebrities including Oprah, Patti LaBelle, Denzel Washington, Danny Glover, and Tavis Smiley all call her recipes the best. She's made more than a dozen television appearances, been featured in national epicurean magazines and is considered one of the nations chefs to watch. As part of Gaylord Opryland Resort's Celebrity Chef's Services, Delilah Winder will be conducting a cooking seminar at the resort Saturday, October 6, 2007. 1 and 2 night VIP and regular packages to see Delilah are still available from $99-$239. Individual tickets for the demonstration can be purchased for $49. Reservations can be made or tickets can be purchased by going to www.gaylordopryland.com or by calling 1-888-999-OPRY (6779). The "Dinner for Education" will include many Titans players and will begin with a silent auction and a reception followed by dinner in the elegant Presidential Ballroom. Guests will enjoy entertainment by a specially invited New Orleans jazz band and a live auction with original, premium items donated by the Titan players and other Nashville benefactors. We all have an obligation to give these at-risk children the ability to acquire basic academic skills and lay the foundation for their ongoing academic, as well as personal, success," said Roydell Williams.
