New Holiday Show Sets Sail Aboard the General Jackson Christmas on the Cumberland November 15 – December 25, 2007

Nashville, Tenn.—( July 25, 2007 ) The General Jackson Showboat launches an exciting new holiday show for 2007. Christmas on the Cumberland is a nostalgic celebration of the season that brings back memories of childhood, Santa Claus and the true meaning of Christmas.

The evening begins as you enter the glittering two-story Victorian Theater aboard the authentic paddlewheel riverboat. Guests will enjoy a new dinner menu for 2007 which includes a Four Seasons Salad served tableside with a cranberry vinaigrette dressing followed by home-style country Pot Roast and Roasted Chicken Roulade served with southern cornbread dressing with a special apple cider glaze. Wild Rice and fresh California Broccoli served with Glazed Ginger Carrots round out this traditional holiday dining experience. After a walk on the outer decks to take in the stunning view of downtown Nashville from the river, guests return to their table to find a delicious Eggnog Cheesecake served with Sugar Plum English Cream.

During dinner, a video screen shows classic holiday films and photographs of family Christmas moments. Guests are encouraged to turn in special cards describing what Christmas means to them. The sentiments are incorporated into the show and help set the stage for an evening to remember.

After dinner, festive holiday music fills the theater and the grand curtain rises to reveal a stage full of Santas grooving to the Temptations' production of "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Traditional Christmas songs, such as "Sleigh Ride," "Please Come Home for Christmas," "Carol of the Bells," "Mary, Did You Know," and "Hark the Herald, Angels Sing" fill you with the spirit of Christmas and remind us of the reason for the season.

Christmas on the Cumberland runs November 15 through December 23, 2007. Adult ticket prices for the cruise, dinner and show begin at $66.51 plus tax. The General Jackson® Showboat has been a Nashville holiday tradition for 22 years. Holiday lunch cruises are also available.
