Wildhorse Saloon's April Concert Schedule Released
Jo Dee Messina, Justin Moore & Pete Yorn to Perform
Nashville, Tenn.—( March 24, 2011 )From concerts by a Grammy Award nominee and a Rolling Stone standout to a national search for country music's next big act, the Wildhorse Saloon is heating up Nashville's music scene this April.
Jo Dee Messina St. Jude Benefit (April 9): Grammy Award nominee Jo Dee Messina will headline a concert to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the Wildhorse Saloon Saturday, April 9, 2011 With two platinum and three gold certified albums and more than 3 million records sold worldwide, Messina's show at the world-famous venue will no doubt feature fan favorites, like "Heads Carolina, Tails California," "Bye, Bye," "Lesson in Leavin'" and "Bring on the Rain." Ticket proceeds benefit the Memphis-based hospital known for researching cures for pediatric cancer. Tickets start at $18.
Justin Moore (April 21): The country newcomer who broke onto the scene with the Top 15 hit "Small Town USA" will play the Wildhorse Saloon on Thursday, April 21, 2011. Justin Moore, one of 2009's break-out country artists has spent the past year touring with heavy hitters Trace Adkins, Hank Williams, Jr., Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tickets start at $10.
Pete Yorn (April 26): Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist Pete Yorn is scheduled to perform live at the Wildhorse Saloon on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Yorn signed with Columbia Records in 1999 and shortly after landed a job scoring music for the film Me, Myself & Irene. In 2001, he released his first record, and the lead single from that album, "Life on a Chain," led Rolling Stone to name Yorn one of 10 artists to watch. Tickets start at $15.
Battle for the Saddle Band Competition (starts April 19): For the third year, the Wildhorse Saloon is looking for country music's next big act, and the competition begins Tuesday, April 19, 2011. The Battle for the Saddle competition is a nationwide search for what will become the top band for the venue. The winning band will also receive a package including an industry showcase, a photo shoot and an appearance during Country Music Association (CMA) week. Subsequent nights of competition will take place on Monday, April 25, 2011; Wednesday, May 4, 2011; and Tuesday, May 17, 2011, leading up to the finale on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.
