GAYLORD OPRYLAND REACHES OUT TO MEETING GROUPS

Teams Communicate with Meeting Planners with Groups on the Books for Next 90 Days Impacted by Nashville’s Natural Disaster

Nashville, Tenn.—( May 5, 2010 ) As the national news media reports on the historic flooding in Nashville, Tennessee, one of the most-viewed and heart-breaking images was that of the iconic, landmark hotel, the Gaylord Opryland Resort, and its indoor atriums under 10 feet of water.

This hotel has long been recognized around the world as one of the nation's top meeting and convention hotels.

As Gaylord Opryland is not currently able to properly host meetings and conventions with the award-winning service for which it is famous, the leadership teams at the hotel have mobilized to reach out to all the meeting planners and businesses with reservations on the books in the next 90 days.

A letter was emailed to every meeting guest* with hotel reservations in the next three months and their meeting planners. [The letter is pasted below.] Additionally, the sales leaders at Gaylord Hotels are reaching out to personally contact each meeting planner to review the Nashville flood situation with them, review their specific questions or concerns, and help them to relocate to another Gaylord Hotel if possible. Those hotels are Gaylord Palms (in the Orlando area), Gaylord National (in the Washington, D.C. area) and Gaylord Texan (in the Dallas, Texas area).

Kemp Gallineau, Senior VP and Chief Sales Officer said, "We knew that our customers had strong loyalty to our brand but even I have been pleasantly surprised by the widespread show of support from our customers on our behalf. In fact, some have already rebooked at Gaylord Opryland in years out as a demonstration of that support." Gallineau continued, "While this natural disaster has been devastating for our Nashville hotel and our STARS, we also know that this flood has caused our customers uncertainty and we appreciate their continued understanding and loyalty."

Pasted below is the email communication that was distributed to Gaylord Opryland meeting customers on the books for the next 90 days:

Over the last 48 hours Middle Tennessee has experienced a historic series of storms that resulted in record rainfall and now widespread flooding. Gaylord Opryland Resort, which sits adjacent to the Cumberland River, suffered flood damage in the early hours of Monday, May 3, 2010 as the river rose to levels that have not been seen in the last 50 years and breached the levees.

The hotel is currently closed. By the end of the month, we hope to have completed an assessment of the situation, and will have more detailed information with regard to the reopening of Gaylord Opryland.

We are disappointed that we will be unable to welcome you at this time. We will be refunding deposits and payments for all reservations scheduled for arrival over the next 90 days. We greatly appreciate your patience and request that you allow several weeks for processing.

We are also working with the organizers of all meetings scheduled to be held at Gaylord Opryland to possibly reschedule the meeting at another of our Gaylord Hotel properties. Please check with your meeting organizer regarding the status of your meeting.

Should you have any questions with regard to the status of Gaylord Opryland Resort, we will be posting updates as conditions merit on www.GaylordOpryland.com. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this unprecedented situation.
