City of Crossville joins forces with firefighters for good holiday cause

Crossville, Tenn.—( November 12, 2009 ) The Tennessee’s Fallen Fire Fighter’s Memorial Fund is partnering with Crossville “The Golf Capital of Tennessee” and Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center this holiday season.

As part of Gaylord Opryland’s A Country Christmas, there is a stunning and unique, charity-driven attraction called The Hall of Trees. On display for viewing and for auction in the beautiful hall are more than 30 elaborately decorated Christmas trees that are also filled with prizes. The trees are each sponsored by an organization or celebrity with a designated charity. Those dazzled by the trees, the prizes, and the good deeds their donations dollars can do, can bid on the trees in person or on-line from November 21 -December 20, 2009.

As part of this community effort, The City of Crossville has decorated a Christmas tree and added some extra razzle-dazzle in the form of popular golf items. The tree can be seen beginning November 21st on www.halloftrees.com. All proceeds from the tree will benefit The Tennessee Fallen Fire Fighters’ Memorial Fund. The bidding will begin on www.halloftrees.com November 21st and run through December 20th. The winner receives the decorations and all of the prizes. The Hall of Trees is open to the public daily beginning November 20th, 2009, and is located in Gaylord Opryland’s new Winter Wonderland area which is in the Ryman Exhibit Hall area of the Convention Center. There, families can visit Gingerbread Corner to learn how to decorate gingerbread houses; enjoy Photos with Santa; ride a kiddies’ train; shop in the popular Treasures for the Holidays Crafts Show and much more!

Last year, Hall of Trees raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities such as The American Cancer Society, Nashville Alliance for Public Education and the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Admission costs $6.
