CHRISTMAS SHOWS ARE READY TO ROLL ON THE RIVER

Two holiday shows open November 13

Nashville, Tenn.—( September 3, 2008 ) The General Jackson Showboat will offer two holiday shows beginning November 13. By popular demand, comedian and musician Tim Watson returns on midday cruises in Tim Watson's Tennessee Christmas. Watson's down-home humor brings a smile to the faces of every audience member as he amazes you with his fantastic fiddle-playing skills. This show is filled with a combination of great country music and Christmas classics. A holiday lunch will be served family style in the warmth of a beautiful Victorian Theater, featuring Southern favorites such as Christmas sugar-cured ham, Rudolph's turkey pot pie and candied yams.

 

Evening cruises will offer a holiday version of NashVegas on the River, the General Jackson's new show for 2008. The dynamic cast of celebrity impersonators from Las Vegas will continue to perform the hits of Tina Turner, Elvis Presley and Elton John. But it wouldn't be Christmas without Elvis's famous "Blue Christmas." The show will rock your holidays with "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Merry Christmas, Baby" performed by a cast that looks, sounds and acts just like the famous singers they portray. Three beautiful dancers dressed in Vegas-style costumes, three back-up singers and a seven-piece live band support the performers, making audience members feel as if they are seeing legendary performers live in concert.

The evening includes a delicious new holiday dinner menu served family style with items such as honey glazed chicken, boneless short ribs of beef served in a forest mushroom sauce and sugar plum pudding with English rum sauce for dessert.

Show times and ticket prices are as follows:

  • Holiday Midday Cruises: Boarding begins at 11:30 a.m. and returns at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices range $33.95 to $53.95 plus tax
  • Holiday Evening Cruises: Monday–Saturday. Boarding begins at 6:15 p.m. and returns at 10:00 p.m. Sunday evening cruise times are one hour earlier. Additional afternoon cruises are also available on select dates. Ticket prices range from $52.95 to $87.95 plus tax.
