Invincible Competition Taking Place at Gaylord Opryland March 21-25. Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) will bring fame and competition to Gaylord Opryland® Resort & Convention Center during their national convention, March 21-25, 2007. Between meetings and an exhibitor’s showcase, attendees can also watch the 2007 National Craft Championship. During this intense, two-day event, students from across the country will compete in one of 13 categories: carpentry, electrical, fire sprinkler, HVAC, instrumentation fitting, insulation, masonry, metal building, millwright, pipefitting, plumbing, sheet metal and welding. Each competition includes a written exam and practical performance testing. Medals and cash prizes will be awarded to the top competitors within each trade. The National Craft Championships have truly become the highlight of the national convention, as ABC is committed to fostering growth and excellence in training among the nation’s future workforce.

ABC will also welcome famed former Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver/special teams performer Vince Papale as their guest speaker. Papale was the inspiration for the 2006 movie Invincible and speaks to young people about fulfilling dreams in the face of adversity.
