"Engineering takes pride in Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center by assuring all buildings and grounds are appealing, comfortable and safe for the satisfaction of our guests and STARS."
As the director of engineering for Gaylord Opryland® Resort & Convention Center, Monty Allsbrooks wears many hats, as his responsibilities encompass the supervision and maintenance for all Gaylord Entertainment properties, including Gaylord Opryland, the Wildhorse Saloon®, Gaylord Springs® Golf Links and the Radisson Hotel at Opryland. His plays a supporting role for WSM-AM, the General Jackson® Showboat and the Grand Ole Opry®. For Gaylord Opryland specifically, he assures that all buildings and grounds are appealing, comfortable and safe for every guest and STAR. Allsbrooks is the “go-to-guy” for maintenance or projects. Retaining high standards for the property is his foremost goal, and attention to detail is very important to him. A perfect example of his commitment to excellence is the air exchange system, which keeps all three atriums at an ideal temperature of 72 degrees year-round.
In his tenure of nearly two decades at Gaylord Opryland, Allsbrooks has served in several capacities, including construction, design development and engineering. However, the Delta Atrium addition in 1996 was one of his most noteworthy accomplishments. He was responsible for the $175 million dollar project that added more than 1,000 guestrooms to the resort. At that time, this was the largest construction endeavor in Tennessee’s history.
Allsbrooks is a Certified Engineering Operations Executive (CEOE) from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Association. He received his Certificate of Leadership at Belmont University and has taken numerous leadership and development courses. He is affiliated with the Associated Valley Industries
Because Allsbrooks places a high priority on community involvement, he is highly active in local school and church activities. He coaches youth basketball and baseball and has assumed numerous leadership roles at his church.
