Fireworks and Fun to Kick-Off Independence Day Weekend at ‘Gaylord National’s July 3rd Celebration’
National Harbor, Md.—( June 11, 2009 ) Kick off this Independence Day Weekend with a blast for the entire family. Fireworks, food and fun will come together along the Potomac River for “Gaylord National’s July 3rd Celebration.” The Washington D.C. region’s new waterfront resort will host this exciting event on Friday, July 3 from 4:30-9:30 p.m.This outdoor, family-friendly festival along the Potomac will feature:
- Live music by We The Band (American Pop, Rock & Country favorites) and Ewabo (Caribbean)
- Delicious summertime food and drinks, featuring selections by Maryland’s famous Lefty’s Barbecue
- Exclusive Wine Garden area (adults-only), featuring cigar-rolling demonstrations and limited-edition President Obama cigars available for purchase
- Celebrity DJ host Lisa Berigan from Washington’s classic rock station BIG 100.3 FM
- Kid’s Zone area featuring kid’s rides, carnival activities, face painting, balloon sculpting and caricature artists
- And, a spectacular 15-minute Fireworks Show over the Potomac River after sundown!
Admission is $5 per person (kids ages 4 and under free), and includes entry to the outdoor festival area along the Gaylord National Resort waterfront, plus live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. Food, beverages, games and other activities are an additional fee.
The event is open to both day visitors and hotel guests. All entertainment and activities begin at 4:30 p.m. The event ends with the fireworks show at sundown (approximately 9:15 p.m.). The event will occur rain or shine. No pets, personal fireworks, outside food and beverage, or coolers will be permitted. Blankets and lawnchairs are welcome.
